I love interviews, both of clients–where I can get to know exactly who I will be writing to–and internal staff interviews–for ghostwriting, business analysis, and much more.

That being the case, I thought I’d create this “About Me” page by interviewing myself. Here goes:

What’s your background?

I’m an IT systems analyst turned creative writer and copywriter, living and working where I was brought up: New York City.   I’ve spent years with UBS, one of the biggest investment banks in the world, and yet more years with cool start ups. And quality time with my Martin guitar.

I need more detail on what you deliver

The short answer is: compelling web copy of all sorts, researched, SEO-savvy, and with flair. But, OK, you asked, so here’s the whole skill set:

Web copy: blog posts, home page copy, long form pillar pages, short form scannables, landing page copy,

Marketing copy: ghostwriting of all sorts, printed materials e.g postcards and more.  Profiles, including the all-important and underrated About page. Interview-based writing is very popular and we love the process.

Social media copy: organic posts and advertising, (SEO and SEM)

Analytics reports: Justify your digital marketing and website spend! Keyword performance and content implications, social media mentions, social channel performance, competitive landscape and gap reports.

Creative briefs: Send me your ideas and let’s talk. OR send me your ideas and I’ll shape them into a clear brief

And…you’ve worked-I mean really, with time effort and feeling–in which industries?

Well, I’ve focused on healthcare, tech. That said, I’m a quick study, so throw anything at me. what’s more…and OK this may be risky…in marketing, choose a smart content creator, all else can be learned.

Is it just you?

Not always. As needed, I may work with graphics professionals, SEO experts, UX ninjas, SME’s in all fields, and more.

How do you work?

After many years creating, managing, training, I’ve a certain process.  I summarize it with this tag line:
Plan, Work, Assess, Iterate.

Couldn’t you be more specific?

OK, this is the process:

  • Identify client’s goals
  • Deeply understand the client’s audience
  • Establish a message, voice and tone along with client’s content/marketing team
  • Map a content strategy
  • Get to know and combine with the client team
  • Identify what makes for success: i.e. agree on metrics
  • Create a plan, embodied in a content calendar
  • Measure, keep what works, discard what does not.

Is your content SEO-savvy?

You bet.  At the highest level. Years of experience with on on-page SEO optimization, technical optimization,  structured data when that makes sense, all the while refining the the keyword clusters that support your topics.

When off-page SEO makes sense, that’s not me. I will bring in trusted pros, and if you wish, help you manage the workflow.

Can you work by subscription?

Yes, for sure. Subscriptions are often the best structure for a blog or social media marketing campaign. Contact me for details
